How should we accomplish our own work? Wu Xinmu, a 76 year old retired professor of Economics And Management School of Wuhan University, continues to pay close attention to the global hot news and actively contributes his wisdom, which demonstrates the spirit of responsibility of the economics and management scholars and the patriotism of a retired teacher of Wuhan University.

When interviewed by the reporter,Professor Wu happily said, “In order to reply General Secretary Xi’s concern over two makeshift hospitals,Wuhan government put forward a proposal to combine peacetime and warfare with short-term retention and long-term consideration. For this reason, academicians including Chen Xiaoping, Ma Ding and another three school deans from HUST and WHU were urgently summoned. We had an urgent discussion and my five suggestions were highly agreed by the participants!"

He participated in several seminars on COVID-19 epidemic, and was entrusted by the mayor of Wuhan to research related topics of "the development of general health industry in Wuhan". Professor Wu Xinmu raised several suggestions on the development of Wuhan's general health industry, Wuhan should build a city of health under the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's theory of general health. Therefore we need to take a high political position and a longterm goal. The key is to plan well the major part of construction and coordinate to provide service from all aspects. Future application of "two mountains" makeshift hospitals should be subject to the above ideas. We may build Wuhan into a world health city to show gratitude to the whole world.

In the consultation report "Comprehensive recovery of economy development and well management of the new infrastructure", Professor Wu mentioned that in order to improve post-epidemic economy recovery and development in China, we should rely on new infrastructure, particularly focus on “new”.In addition to cover the traditional infrastructure industries such as railway, highway, machinery and real estate, we should pay special attention to the new elements in new infrastructure. Which include but not limited to: new overseas, new extraterritorial, new bay area, new area, new network, new hub, new layout, new tools of transportation, new mode of transportation, etc. The "new" elements of new infrastructure also points to the new role of infrastructure construction involved in the construction of new industry, new energy, new smart system, new information, new health care, new ecology, new countryside, new agriculture, new water conservancy, etc., such as 5G base station, charging pile, etc. Infrastructure construction should take lead in overcoming the weakness of various types of infrastructure.

In the consultation report "China's choice when China's epidemic is approaching the end while the world's epidemic is moving towards the middle point", Professor Wu proposed that we should always keep in mind of fighting on two battlefields. When China rose to fight the epidemic, the Anti China forces led by the United States had been gloating, adding obstacles and adding chaos, waiting for China to become a "epidemic country" to encircle China. Therefore, the war of "Wuhan anti epidemic" started with the war of national destiny. If Wuhan wins, China will win. On March 10, the epidemic in China began to move towards the end point, while the world epidemic began to move towards the midpoint and high point. Under the background of the oil crisis superimposed on the epidemic crisis, the break of European and American bonding, bonds and futures markets collapse together are causing a series of secondary disasters. The United States, Italy, Iran, Japan and South Korea became the epicenter areas. All these factors have worsened the global economic pattern and the external environment of China's development. When we resume work and production comprehensively, we must have a clear macro vision, rather than blind optimism, we must retain a two-battlefields mindset, and must not relax our vigilance against epidemic.

On February 28, Professor Wu put forward in the Netease News that "the most difficult groups post-epidemic should be included in the targeted poverty alleviation", which may not be simplified or flooded, and very individual relief measures should be implemented. A large number of policies and institutional arrangements have clear direction (extreme poor groups), positive (to promote the resumption of work and production, employment, services,etc.) and comprehensive measures to solve the difficulties.

On March 4, Professor Wu spoke in Netease News to discuss how to resume work and production after epidemic. First, we need to get psychologically prepared for future that this war against COVID-19 can be protracted.. We should seriously consider the profound impact of this epidemic on China's economy, production and life. Second, we need to acknowledge that the whole situation has changed, not simply returning to the pre-epidemic normal state. Many changes have taken place, such as changes in business environment, market focus, people's life, and so on. Third, it is necessary to deepen reform and expand opening-up mentality to resume work and production, and to adapt to the changing world, market and format. So we can provide an inexhaustible driving force for development.

On March 12, Professor Wu published his views on "anti epidemic economy" in Netease News, and pointed out that the era of general health is coming. He proposed to enhance "community economy", and to promote the construction of "epidemic free community" to the comprehensive construction of economy and society. "Epidemic, tragedy and disaster" have brought about the era of general health economy. Before epidemic, people had reached a consensus that “senior executive inferior to high salary, high salary inferior to longevity, longevity inferior to happiness, and happiness was inferior to health. Everything is people-oriented, while people is health-oriented.China is welcoming a new era of comprehensive and large-scale development of general health industry.

On March 19, Professor Wu shared his view in Netease News, putting forward that "looking for new highlights of development, the moon and stars are both great". In the 2008 financial crisis, China launched four trillion RMB with the purpose to stimulate development of “railway, highway and machinary”, which can be considered as the “moon”. However, we can't wait for top decision to look for the "moon" at present. We suggest to search for “stars”in all aspects. In addition to accelerating some major projects under construction, we should also approve a batch of new projects: such as bottlenecks of medical and health care, general health industry, Chinese medicine industry, health care industry, new round of small urbanization construction, urban community functional services, block chain industry, compulsory education upgrading, security level improvement, etc.(Editor:Zhang Yujie,Luo Yu)
