The School held a professor committee to plan discipline construction

On the afternoon of March 17,2021,The School Professors Committee Meeting was held in the conference room.Dean Song Min and more than two-thirds of the professors committee members attended the meeting.Du Xiaocheng,secretary of the party committee,and directors of various departments,branch secretaries and directors of functional offices attended the meeting as nonvoting delegates. The main content of the conference is the thinking and improvement suggestions on the construction of first-class disciplines in the post-evaluation era,soliciting opinions on the first draft of the school's "14th Five-Year Plan", and planning for the introduction of talents in various disciplines.

After the Spring Festival, The School's four first-level disciplines participated in the fifth round of national discipline evaluation held by the Ministry of Education’s Degree and Graduate Education Development Center. This assessment is based on the basic standard of "Lide to build people's effectiveness", "quality, effectiveness, characteristics, and contribution" as the value orientation, breaking the "five uniques" as a breakthrough, and insisting on the basic positioning of "the overall level of first-level disciplines" , under the premise of maintaining the basic stability of the four first-level indicator system frameworks of "Quality of Talent Training", "Teaching Team and Resources", "Scientific Research Level" and "Social Service and Disciplinary Reputation". The method has been improved. Four professors, including Yu Zhen, Pan Min, Fang Debin, and Li Qingyuan, respectively summarized the first-level discipline evaluation work they were responsible for, sorted out the problems found in the evaluation, and put forward constructive suggestions for improvement. Professor Zeng Guoan summarized and analyzed the construction cycle of the school's "Double First Class" disciplines and proposed measures to promote the new development of "Double First Class" disciplines.

The members of the Professor Committee listened carefully to various summaries and suggestions,combined with the "14th Five-Year Plan" opportunity to solicit opinions, made suggestions for the development of the school in the next five years,and put forward constructive ideas and measures.The committee members expressed that they should use the fifth round of discipline evaluation to find out problems, take the initiative to improve,take precautions,and make reasonable plans based on the basic situation of the school, the key data and the summary of the "double first-class" discipline construction cycle. The School must use evaluation to promote construction and reform. From discipline planning, team building, talent training, platform building, international development and other aspects, the school should integrate its resources, strive for school support, and attract social investment to strive for the next five years. Get more and better results during the construction period.

At the same time, the committee members suggested that the key indicators such as the subject evaluation and the "Double First-Class" construction should be analyzed and included in the revision of the school's "14th Five-Year" development plan to enhance quantifiable development indicators and make the planning more clear, reasonable, scientific and objective. It is hoped that through the preparation of the five-year development plan, targeted strategic goals will be established, and it is hoped that the college can work together to implement the planning plan and promote the high-quality and connotative development of the school.

The professor committee is a decision-making and consulting organization under the leadership of the school’s party committee and administrative leadership. It is a necessary organizational form for the establishment of the school’s democratic management and scientific decision-making. The professor committee promotes academic democracy, promotes the spirit of science, unites teachers, actively carries out academic research and academic exchange activities, improves the level of teaching and scientific research, and is committed to playing the role of professors in teaching, especially in discipline construction and talent team construction. The convening of this conference fully demonstrated the role of the academics of the school’s professor committee actively participating in the governance of the school. The professors made suggestions on disciplines, talents, teaching, scientific research, etc., and made every effort to contribute to the development of the school.
